During this class there were several exercises that we participated in to help gain a better understanding of integral health and wellness. There were two exercises that I really enjoyed the most and can see using in my everyday life. The first was the exercise about Loving Kindness. This is a great morning exercise to help start the day off right and to be in a positive loving frame of mind before going out into the world. The second were the visualization exercises. For myself I usually think of using visualization to help improve sports or fitness performance yet it can also be used to help improve overall health. This would be a great evening exercise to do before going to bed. Sleep is a great time for the body to repair and recover from the days activites and stress. Taking the time each day can help to bring great improvements to a persons overall health. Focusing on getting a good nights sleep and having good dreams can help focus the mind and help the body to relax and move into a nice restful sleep.

Jonathan,
ReplyDeleteI think it is great that you are practicing the Loving Kindness on a daily basis. I found that practice a bit difficult. Teaching college students has some negative stressors and I have a hard time seeing the love and good in some people. I am still working on it but don't have it yet. The visualization is my absolute favorite. It makes me feel WONDERFUL. I am going to take your suggestion and complete this exercise before bed. I am sure I will sleep very well.
Hi Jonathan, I enjoy and use both the mentioned exercise in the same manor. Starting the day with positive thoughts before my feet hit the floor is to me putting on body armor. There may or not be a battle to face that day but either way I can give off beams of positive light and store up. Meditation used to drift off into positive sleep gives me pleasant dreams or answers to question in the form of ideas. I love falling asleep to mental visual aids of my health and wellness center of the future. Teaching others who to rest their mind before bed can help their sleep pattern.
